why blog?
a friend asked me 'bakit ka ngba-blog, di ka ba takot ma-stalk?'
i nonchalantly answered 'wala lang, para lang masaya...'... but the question stayed with me 'bakit nga ba ako ngba-blog?' at ' kelan nga ba nauso ang blogging?'...
summer of 2004 when i first heard about blogging, (www.blogspot.com to be exact!) i really dont get the point of having an online journal. i was like "ano ba 'to? website na puro sulat? weird! " maybe, because i am used to the old school of writing in a diary, and keeping it as secret as possible.
i wrote my first entry on June 2004. walang kwenta,as in super walang kwenta.hehe... i do admit i'm not a good writer neither close to being good, but i love to write what's in my mind..
i never thought blogging would make it big in the IT world. at one point, i came to conclude that people are becoming more and more anti-social since they no longer communicate person-to-person, instead they use WWW to relay their messages... obviously, that thought has changed...=)
writing blog becomes a therapeutic routine for a lot of blog-dicts... one is no longer caught up in his/her own world... thanks to the never-ending blog hosts' upgrades of comments, tag boards and other features that allows other users to interact to what you have written.
also, it is a place to practice not only one's writing skills but design skills as well...a lot of sites allow the user to create the layout and design of his own page. as a result, more websites offers free 'accessories/services' for you to use in your blog site like photobucket, click.com among others. advertisement! (that's the word) Note: when you customized your pages, make sure its readable! its annoying when it's bombarded w/ lots of graphics! be considerate to your readers.(its part of blogging 101)
"bakit ka ngba-blog?"
it lets you reach a lot of people (esp those who are close to you) in just seconds. lets you share your experiences, fears, likes and hates. lets you uncover a part of you even in strangers (can be good or bad)... frees you from a lot of things...
indeed, blogging serves as an whatever-outlet for most people... =)
"di ka ba takot ma-stalk?"
what is commonly written in blogs are day-to-day events, reactions to current events among others. so the risk of being stalked is there... but greater freedom comes with greater responsibility, right? so the writers (with the freedom to write) should think about what to post and not to post. and as for the readers (freedom to read), should be careful on judging and commenting on what they are reading...
blogs can be 50-50 fact and fiction... maybe one should be careful on what to write and what to believe in.
